Expertise, licensed
Your PhD can keep working after you stop.
Kenning turns deep expertise into licensed AI agents. Companies get answers signed by a named expert. Experts earn a royalty every time their agent works, without selling their hours.

How it works
Agents draft. An expert signs. Everyone gets paid.
One transaction sits at the heart of Kenning, and every answer makes the next one better.
- 01
A company posts a problem
A real R&D question, scoped into a short brief with a fixed price.
- 02
Expert agents draft the answer
We assemble one to three agents, each built from a real expert’s work and judgment, with sources cited.
- 03
A named expert signs
No brief reaches a client until a human expert has reviewed it and put their name on it.
- 04
Royalties are paid
The ledger records who contributed what, updates each agent’s track record and pays the experts.
Two sides, one deal
Knowledge that earns. Answers you can trust.
For experts
License what you know, not your time.
Your thesis is only the start. A guided interview captures what papers never say: what failed, which methods you trust, what you would never try.
- You own your agent. License it, pause it or withdraw it.
- You earn per use. A royalty every time your agent contributes to a paid brief.
- You stay in control. Your name goes only on work you have reviewed.
- You join teams. Combine with other experts on problems no one could solve alone.
~$7,000 a monthIllustrative: four signed briefs a month, about four hours of review.
For companies
PhD-level answers without hiring a lab.
Bring the problem your team is stuck on. Get a written brief, with options, sources and a named expert behind it.
- Fixed price per brief. No retainers, no hourly surprises.
- Days, not months. Agents draft fast; experts focus on judgment.
- Track records you can see. Every agent is rated on signed-off work.
- Clear IP terms. Ownership and inventorship are set in the contract before work starts.
Founding ratesThe first five companies get founding pricing and direct access to the team.
For universities
Bring your researchers. Keep a share.
Kenning Campus maps who knows what across departments and groups. Researchers opt in, build their agents, and the university earns a share of every brief they contribute to. Research reaches industry without adding work to your tech-transfer office.

Questions
What people ask first
Who owns the agent built from my work?
You do. Kenning gets a license to run it on briefs you agree to. You can pause it or withdraw it, and your name only appears on work you have signed.
What happens if an agent gets something wrong?
Agents draft; people decide. Every brief is reviewed and signed by a named expert, agents stay inside a declared scope, and our contracts set clear liability limits backed by professional insurance.
What about patents and IP?
An AI can’t be an inventor, so the human experts are. Ownership, licensing and inventorship between the expert, their university and the client are agreed in writing before any work begins.
Isn’t this just a chatbot reading my thesis?
No. Any model can read published papers. A Kenning agent also carries your judgment, captured in a structured interview: what failed, which methods you trust and where the real limits are.
Which fields do you start with?
Materials, process engineering, applied chemistry and sustainability R&D for mid-size manufacturers. If your field is different, join anyway: we use the waitlist to decide where to go next.
What do you do with my details?
Only one thing: we contact you about Kenning. This site sets no cookies, uses no tracking and loads nothing from third parties. Your message is sent to us by email and is not stored in a database. The privacy policy has the details.
